Jury Demand needs to be added to Miscellaneous Filing in AlaFile. There are times I have filed Complaint and as all humans, I make mistakes, have gotten in a hurry and forgot to check the jury demand box. Although Jury Demand is requested on the Complaint - Alafile hasn't charged for it and Jury Trial won't be listed on case. There is no way after filing the Complaint to go back in Alafile to file and pay the jury demand. This is another means of making it idiot proof.

I absolutely concur! I filed a Complaint at 2am last Sunday and missed (after looking, mind you) the tiny check-box to make and pay for a Jury Demand. Its clearly indicated on the Complaint, however, I am at a loss as to what to do now to pay for the Jury Demand. Please help. Thanks

The separate Jury Demand feature is actually in the last stages of testing and should become available in the near future. To address your current situation, please contact the clerk's office of the county the complaint was filed in. They should be able to work out a payment solution for you. Please let me know if you have any questions.

I filed an Answer to a Third Party Complaint and there is no choice in Alafile when you file an Answer to a Third Party Complaint. The only choices are Answer to Counterclaim and Answer to Cross-Claim. I chose Answer to Crossclaim and I am positive I checked yes to the jury demand. When I filed it Alafile did not charge me for a jury demand. There should be a place to Answer a Third Party Complaint because a jury demand would be separate from the jury demand the plaintiff(s) requested when filing the original Complaint. Do I need to go back and file the Answer to Third Party Complaint as just an Answer and request a jury demand to see if Alafile will charge for the jury demand.

I cannot tell for sure because I don't know which case your answer was filed in, but it should mean that this case already has been marked as a jury trial. To make sure though, please contact the AOC's AlaFile helpdesk at 1-866-954-9411 Option 1, then Option 4. They should also be able to tell you what needs to be done should this not be the case.
